Memory
The HPE ProLiant DL380 G6 (Generation 6) server comes standard with 4GB of Unbuffered memory and can support up to 192GB of Registered memory (RDIMM), or up to 48GB of Unbuffered memory (UDIMM). Please note that Registered and Unbuffered memory cannot be mixed in the same server.
These maximum configurations are achieved by populating 12 slots with 16GB RDIMMs or 4GB UDIMMs. Global One Technology offers the 192GB RDIMM kit to max out the memory on your DL380 G6 server. NOTE: This server model can be configured to use either 2.5 inch Small Form Factor (SFF) drives OR 3.5 inch Large Form Factor drives. Please be sure to verify which type your machine is configured to use before placing an order. The SFF models have four slots per vertical column with a max of 16 total hard drive slots), while the LFF models have two slots per column.
You can use either SAS or SATA drives in the DL380 G6. Most customers opt for Enterprise SAS drives due to the superior performance - faster data transfer rates and spindle speeds.
