HPE ProLiant DL60 Gen9 Parts
The HPE ProLiant DL60 Gen9 is the entry-level 1U rack server of its generation, built for scale-out file, print, messaging and collaboration workloads on the Intel C610 chipset. It takes Xeon E5-2600 v3 and v4 processors across just eight DDR4 slots and four large form factor bays, and those tight ceilings are the first thing to check before buying for it. Every part below is genuine HPE, available new and refurbished, and tested for compatibility before it ships. Live pricing for each part number appears in the tables further down this page.
DL60 Gen9 Platform at a Glance
- Processors: up to two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 or E5-2600 v4, upgradeable to two processors and 28 cores, with mixing of different processor models unsupported
- Memory: 8 DDR4 slots — four per processor, four channels per processor, one DIMM per channel — to a maximum of 256GB on eight 32GB modules, Registered or Load Reduced
- Drive bays: four LFF bays plus an optical bay, built at the factory either as 4LFF hot plug or as 4LFF non-hot-plug; there is no small form factor version of this chassis
- Maximum internal storage: 32.0TB on four 8TB hot-plug LFF SAS or SATA drives, 16TB on four 4TB non-hot-plug SATA drives, or 15.36TB on four 3.84TB LFF SATA solid state drives
- Storage controller: embedded HPE Dynamic Smart Array B140i on entry and base models, supporting up to four SATA drives at 6Gb/s with RAID 0, 1, 1+0 and 5
- Networking: HPE Embedded Dual Port 361i adapter on the Intel I350 controller, two 1GbE RJ-45 ports
- Expansion: three PCI Express 3.0 slots — one x16 low profile, plus two carried on a mandatory CPU1 riser in either FlexibleLOM or full-height half-length form
- Power and cooling: a 550W non-redundant supply at 80 Plus Silver, or a 900W AC 240VDC power input module at 80 Plus Gold on a redundant power backplane, with three to six hot-swap fans
- Management: HPE iLO 4 with 2GB NAND, Intelligent Provisioning, UEFI by default with a Legacy BIOS option, a Micro SD slot and TPM 2.0 support
On a DL60 Gen9 the ceilings decide the order, not the options list. Eight DIMM slots at one DIMM per channel stop at 256GB, four large form factor bays stop at 32.0TB, and three PCI Express 3.0 slots is the whole expansion budget. Check those three numbers against what the machine has to do before buying a single part for it.

DL60 Gen9 Parts FAQ
What processors does the DL60 Gen9 support?
Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 and E5-2600 v4 processors on the Intel C610 chipset, up to two of them. HPE documents the server as upgradeable to two processors and 28 cores, and mixing different processor models in one server is not supported.
How much memory can a DL60 Gen9 take?
256GB. The server has eight DDR4 slots at one DIMM per channel, and eight 32GB modules at 2400MHz reach the ceiling. That figure is the same for Registered and for Load Reduced memory.
How many drives does a DL60 Gen9 hold?
Four. The chassis has four large form factor bays and an optical bay, and HPE built it either as 4LFF hot plug or as 4LFF non-hot-plug. There is no second cage and no small form factor option.
What is the maximum internal storage of a DL60 Gen9?
32.0TB on four 8TB hot-plug LFF SAS or SATA drives. The non-hot-plug chassis is documented to 16TB on four 4TB SATA drives, and LFF SATA solid state drives reach 15.36TB on four 3.84TB units.
Which RAID controller is built into the DL60 Gen9?
An embedded HPE Dynamic Smart Array B140i, on both entry and base models. On this server it supports up to four SATA drives at 6Gb/s with RAID 0, 1, 1+0 and 5, and it does not support SAS.
How many PCIe slots does a DL60 Gen9 have?
Three PCI Express 3.0 slots. Slot 1 is a low profile x16; slots 2 and 3 come from a CPU1 riser that is mandatory in every configuration, available either with a FlexibleLOM connector or with a full-height half-length slot.
