HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 Parts

The HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 is the single-socket 1U rack server built on the Intel C242 chipset, taking one Xeon E-2200 series processor, four unbuffered ECC DDR4 slots and four SFF or two LFF drive bays. Every part below is genuine HPE, available new and refurbished, and tested for compatibility before it ships. Live pricing for each part number appears in the tables further down this page.

DL20 Gen10 Platform at a Glance

  • Processor: one socket, and only one processor is supported — Intel Xeon E-2200 series up to eight cores and 16MB of L3 cache, plus the 9th generation Core i3-9100 and Pentium G5420
  • Memory: four DDR4 slots — two channels, two DIMMs per channel — taking ECC Unbuffered DIMMs only, to 64GB on four 16GB modules at 2666 MT/s; Registered and Load Reduced are not supported
  • Drive bays: four hot-plug SFF bays with an option supporting two more, two hot-plug LFF bays, or two non-hot-plug LFF bays
  • Maximum internal storage: 92.16TB on six 15.36TB SFF SAS solid state drives, 14.4TB on six 2.4TB SFF SAS hard drives, or 32TB on two 16TB LFF drives
  • Storage controller: embedded HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 software RAID, a 14-port SATA controller with twelve ports accessible, with E208 and P408 SR Gen10 cards as the options
  • Networking: embedded HPE Ethernet 1Gb 2-port 361i Adapter on Intel i350 silicon, two RJ-45 ports; SR-IOV is not supported
  • Expansion: two PCIe 3.0 slots, both eight lanes wide, one low profile and one full height half length
  • Power and cooling: a single non-redundant 290W supply as standard, with 500W Flex Slot Platinum and 800W Flex Slot −48VDC options; three single-rotor fans, neither hot-plug nor redundant
  • Management and security: embedded HPE iLO 5, a dedicated iLO management port as an option kit, TPM 1.2 and 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot and an immutable silicon root of trust

This is an entry rack server, and its ceilings are the whole story. One processor socket, four DDR4 slots stopping at 64GB of ECC Unbuffered memory, and two PCIe 3.0 slots that networking, storage and Fibre Channel all share. Storage is where it stretches: four SFF bays, six with the enablement kit, reaching 92.16TB on SAS solid state.

DL20 Gen10 Parts FAQ

How much memory can a DL20 Gen10 take?
64GB, as four 16GB dual-rank ECC Unbuffered DDR4-2666 modules. It has four DIMM slots across two channels and supports UDIMMs only - Registered and Load Reduced are not supported.

How many processors does the DL20 Gen10 hold?
One. It is a single-socket server on the Intel C242 chipset, taking Intel Xeon E-2200 series parts up to eight cores, or a 9th generation Core i3-9100 or Pentium G5420. All four DIMM slots are available with that one processor.

How many drives fit in a DL20 Gen10?
Four hot-plug 2.5-inch SFF drives, six with the 2SFF drive enablement kit, or two 3.5-inch LFF drives in a hot-plug or a non-hot-plug cage. The chassis was fixed when the server was built.

What is the maximum storage capacity of a DL20 Gen10?
92.16TB, using six 15.36TB SFF SAS solid state drives. On spinning disk the ceiling is 14.4TB across six 2.4TB SFF SAS drives, or 32TB on two 16TB LFF drives.

Does the DL20 Gen10 have redundant power?
Not as standard. It ships with a single non-redundant 290W supply; the 500W Flex Slot Platinum and 800W Flex Slot minus 48VDC hot-plug supplies are the redundant options, and HPE does not allow two different power supplies in one server.

How many expansion slots does a DL20 Gen10 have?
Two PCIe 3.0 slots, both eight electrical lanes. Slot 1 is low profile in an x8 connector, slot 2 is full height half length in an x16 connector, and a plug-in storage controller or Fibre Channel adapter uses one of them.
