How many processors and cores does an SL165z G7 tray take?
Up to two AMD Opteron 6000 series processors, eight-core or twelve-core, so twenty-four cores per tray and forty-eight in a full z6000 chassis. Every processor listed carries 12MB of shared level 3 cache.

How much memory does an SL165z G7 hold?
256GB using Registered DIMMs across all 24 slots, or 64GB using Unbuffered DIMMs across sixteen of them. Registered and Unbuffered memory cannot be mixed in the same server.

How many drives fit in an SL165z G7?
Two 3.5-inch drives as built, or four 2.5-inch drives once SFF drive cage kits are fitted. All of them are non-hot-plug, on quick release carriers.

Does the SL165z G7 have its own power supplies?
No. The Common Slot hot-plug supplies sit in the z6000 chassis and feed both trays, which is why HPE warns that cutting chassis power takes down every server in it.

Where do the rack rails come from on this server?
The z6000 chassis, not the tray. HPE lists a 2U rail kit that carries one chassis and a 10U bulk rail kit that carries five, so ten SL165z G7 servers.
