The HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 is the single-socket 4U tower built on the Intel C246 chipset, taking one Xeon E-2200 series processor, four unbuffered ECC DDR4 slots and a front end of four large form factor or eight small form factor bays. This is an entry tower, and two ceilings decide most ML30 Gen10 orders. Memory stops at 64GB across four ECC Unbuffered slots, with no Registered module to grow into, and there is one processor socket rather than two. Storage is the part that scales: four LFF bays reach 72TB, and eight SFF bays reach 61.44TB on SATA solid state.

How much memory can an ML30 Gen10 take?
64GB, as four 16GB ECC Unbuffered DDR4-2666 modules. The server has four DIMM slots and supports ECC UDIMMs only - Registered and Load Reduced modules are not supported at any capacity.

How many drives fit in an ML30 Gen10?
Eight on the SFF hot-plug chassis, four on the LFF hot-plug chassis, or four on the LFF non-hot-plug chassis, which can be taken to six with additional drive enablement kits. The chassis is fixed at build time.

Does the ML30 Gen10 have a RAID controller?
It has the embedded HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 software RAID, which serves four SATA ports on the drive cage plus two more for the media bays. SAS drives, or more than four cage drives, need a plug-in Smart Array card.

Is the ML30 Gen10 a redundant server?
Only in power, and only if it was built for it. The 500W Flex Slot supplies give 1+1 redundancy in pairs, but the 350W entry supplies are single and non-hot-plug, and the system fan module is neither redundant nor hot-plug.

How many processors does the ML30 Gen10 hold?
One. It is a single-socket server on the Intel C246 chipset, so there is no second processor to add and all four DIMM slots are available with the one processor installed.

Does the ML30 Gen10 support 10 Gigabit Ethernet?
Yes, through an add-in card. Two RJ-45 Gigabit ports are embedded on the 361i adapter, and 10Gb BASE-T and SFP+ cards are supported, though they require the ML30 Gen10 Front PCI Fan and Baffle Kit.
