Check the processor series before you order. The DL385 Gen10 Plus takes AMD EPYC 7001 and 7002 Series processors only — HPE states that EPYC 7003 Series parts cannot be supported in this server. The second CPU is what unlocks the full 32 DIMM slots and PCIe slots 4 through 8.

One or two AMD EPYC 7002 Series processors, from 8 cores up to 64, in TDPs from 120W to 240W. The QuickSpecs also list EPYC 7001 Series support and state that AMD EPYC 7003 Series processors cannot be supported in this server.

How much memory does the DL385 Gen10 Plus support?
Up to 8TB. There are 32 DDR4-3200 DIMM slots - 16 per processor across 8 channels each - and 256GB 3DS LRDIMMs in every slot reach the maximum. Each EPYC processor is rated for up to 4TB on its own.

How many drives fit in a DL385 Gen10 Plus?
The 24 SFF chassis reaches 38 SFF drives with the 8 SFF mid tray and the 6 SFF rear bays. The 12 LFF chassis reaches 20 LFF with the optional 4 LFF mid-plane and 4 LFF rear cages.

Does the DL385 Gen10 Plus have built-in network ports?
No. The QuickSpecs list network ports as 'None. Choice of OCP or stand up card.' The only standard network connection is the dedicated 1Gb iLO management port, so every build needs an OCP 3.0 adapter or a stand-up PCIe card.
