• Nodes: two server nodes share a single half-height bay, and HPE publishes every figure below per node — a fully fitted blade holds twice what one node holds
• Enclosure: HPE BladeSystem c7000 only, up to 16 blades for 32 server nodes in 10U; HPE does not support this blade in the c3000
• Processors: up to two Intel Xeon 5600 series per node on the Intel 5500 chipset, four per blade, each with 12MB of shared L3 cache
• Memory: six DDR3 DIMM slots per node, one on each of six channels, taking up to 96GB Registered or 24GB Unbuffered per node
• Drive bays: one non-hot-plug 2.5-inch SATA bay per node on an embedded SATA controller, 500GB maximum per node
• Networking: an embedded NC362i dual-port Gigabit adapter and an embedded one-port NC543i 4xQDR InfiniBand/10Gb Flex-10 adapter per node, plus a 10/100 NIC dedicated to iLO 3 — there are no mezzanine slots
• Enclosure bays: embedded NIC port 1 maps to interconnect bays 1 and 2, port 2 to bays 3 and 4, and the NC543i to bays 5 through 8, taking the personality of whichever module is fitted there
• Power and cooling: supplied entirely by the enclosure — the c7000 needs ten fans for this blade, N+1 power supply redundancy is supported and N+N is not

The BL2x220c G7 carries two independent server nodes in a single half-height bay, and HPE publishes every figure per node: two processor sockets, six DIMM slots and one drive bay each. It also has no power supplies, fans or mezzanine slots of its own, and it runs in the c7000 enclosure only — HPE does not support it in the c3000.

How many servers are in one BL2x220c G7 blade?
Two. A single half-height blade carries two independent server nodes, each with its own pair of processor sockets, its own six DIMM slots, its own drive bay and its own iLO 3. HPE lists every specification per node, so a blade is two of everything.

Which enclosure does the BL2x220c G7 go in?
The HPE BladeSystem c7000 only. HPE does not support this blade in the c3000. A c7000 holds up to 16 BL2x220c blades, which is 32 server nodes in 10U, and needs ten fans fitted for them.

Does the BL2x220c G7 have mezzanine slots?
No. The QuickSpecs states plainly that there are no mezzanine slots in this blade. Each node uses an embedded NC362i dual-port Gigabit adapter and an embedded one-port NC543i 4xQDR InfiniBand/10Gb Flex-10 adapter instead.

Does the blade have its own power supplies and fans?
No. Power and cooling come from the c7000 enclosure. N+1 power supply redundancy is supported with this blade and N+N is not, and 95W processors raise the requirement to six enclosure power supplies.

Can I put a BL2x220c G7 into an enclosure that already has other blades?
HPE supports it but does not recommend it. This blade uses a different I/O map from single-node half-height blades, and the other blades in the enclosure then have to conform to its rules. Interconnect bays 1 to 4 must hold Ethernet modules, or the blade fails e-keying and will not boot.

Can I add a storage blade or expansion blade to a BL2x220c G7?
No. HPE does not support partner blades such as the PCI Expansion Blade, the Tape Blade or the SB40c with this server. Storage beyond the one drive per node has to come over the network.
