Two things decide most DL380 G6 orders: the front end and the memory type. HPE built this server either with eight SFF bays, which a second cage takes to sixteen, or as a six-bay LFF machine, and a 2.5-inch drive will not seat in a 3.5-inch bay. On memory, Registered and Unbuffered cannot run together, so whichever is fitted today is what an upgrade has to match.
