HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Parts
The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is the dense 1U two-socket rack server of the Gen9 line: Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 or E5-2600 v4 processors on the Intel C610 chipset, 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, and a chassis built as 8 SFF, 10 SFF or 4 LFF hot-plug bays. Every part below is genuine HPE, available new and refurbished, and tested for compatibility before it ships. Live pricing for each part number appears in the tables further down this page.
DL360 Gen9 Platform at a Glance
- Processors: one or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 or E5-2600 v4 CPUs — up to 44 cores with two 22-core E5-2699 v4 parts, and HPE does not support mixing the two generations
- Memory: 24 DIMM slots — 12 per processor, 4 channels each, 3 DIMMs per channel — HPE SmartMemory DDR4 RDIMM or LRDIMM to 3TB on 24 × 128GB LRDIMMs
- Storage: 8 SFF, 10 SFF (an 8SFF chassis plus the 2SFF kit) or 4 LFF hot-plug bays on Gen9 SmartDrive carriers, with NVMe express-bay options
- Storage controller: embedded Dynamic Smart Array B140i on Entry models, the H240ar Smart Host Bus Adapter, or Flexible Smart Array P440ar/2GB on Base and Performance models
- Expansion: 3 PCIe 3.0 slots — a standard primary riser carrying x16 full-height and x8 low-profile, plus an optional secondary x16 riser that requires the second processor
- Networking: an embedded 4-port 1GbE 331i adapter on every model, plus one FlexibleLOM bay for 1GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE or InfiniBand
- Power and cooling: a maximum of two Flex Slot hot-plug supplies, and 5 standard fans on 1P models against 7 on 2P
- Management: HPE iLO 4 with 4GB NAND and a dedicated 1Gb port, Intelligent Provisioning, UEFI and TPM 2.0
- Warranty as shipped: 3-year parts, 3-year labor, 3-year onsite with next business day response
Two processor generations, one socket. The DL360 Gen9 accepts Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 and E5-2600 v4 processors, but HPE states mixing the two is not supported — and v4 parts require PC4-2400T memory kits. Identify the generation in your sockets before ordering either a processor or a DIMM, because the two decisions travel together.
Fibre Channel and converged adapters, RDX and StoreOnce disk backup, StoreEver tape, InfiniBand and Omni-Path adapters, optical drives, media bays and PCIe riser kits all render on this page rather than in a category of their own. Platform detail is in the official HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 QuickSpecs.

DL360 Gen9 Parts FAQ
What processors does the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 support?
Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 and E5-2600 v4 series processors on the Intel C610 chipset, in up to two sockets. HPE states plainly that mixing E5-2600 v3 and E5-2600 v4 processors is not supported, so both sockets have to be on the same generation and the same model.
How many drive bays does the DL360 Gen9 have?
Three layouts: 8 SFF hot-plug bays, 10 SFF (an 8SFF chassis plus the 2SFF SAS/SATA Universal Media Bay kit, 764630-B21), or 4 LFF. No hard drives ship standard, and pre-configured models arrive with some drive blanks fitted.
How much memory does the DL360 Gen9 take?
Twenty-four DIMM slots - twelve per processor, four channels per processor, three DIMMs per channel. HPE quotes a maximum of 3TB using 24 x 128GB LRDIMMs, 1.5TB using 24 x 64GB LRDIMMs, and 768GB using 24 x 32GB RDIMMs.
How many PCIe slots does the DL360 Gen9 have?
Three PCIe 3.0 slots. The primary riser ships standard with a full-height three-quarter-length x16 slot and a low-profile x8 slot, both off processor 1. The secondary riser adds an x16 slot and requires the second processor.
Does the DL360 Gen9 have onboard network ports?
Yes. Both the SFF and LFF chassis carry an embedded HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331i adapter, plus a separate dedicated 1Gb iLO management port. The FlexibleLOM bay is an additional upgrade path, and HPE states only one FlexibleLOM can be added.
Can I mix new and refurbished parts in the DL360 Gen9?
Yes. Genuine HPE parts perform identically whether new or refurbished, and refurbished stock is tested before shipping - a common way to add DIMMs, drives or a second power supply at lower cost.
