DL360 Gen10 Plus at a glance

Processors

Up to two 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors of the same model, named Platinum, Gold or Silver (model numbers x3xx). U models (Gold 6314U, 6312U) and the Platinum 8351N run in single-socket configurations only.

Processors ship without heat sinks or fans: 150W or more needs the High Performance Heat Sink Kit, below that the Standard Heat Sink Kit; 205W or more needs the High Performance Fan Kit.

Two processors need 7 fans; the Standard Fan Kit adds 2, for processors up to 195W. Processors up to 140W or from 230W also need the DIMM blanks kit. DL360 Gen10 Plus Processors

Memory

32 DIMM slots, 16 per processor on 8 channels. DDR4-3200 kits only: RDIMMs from 8GB to 64GB, LRDIMMs of 128GB and 256GB. Up to 8TB with 256GB LRDIMMs in every slot, or 2TB with 64GB RDIMMs; the two types do not mix.

The 256GB kit needs the High Performance Fan Kit and the DIMM blanks kit, is limited to a 25°C inlet and is not supported with the InfiniBand HDR/Ethernet 200Gb 2-port QSFP56 OCP3 adapter.

Fit 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 16 DIMMs per processor, and do not mix 3DS and non-3DS DIMMs. The processor sets the speed: up to 3200 MT/s with most Platinum 83xx and Gold 63xx models, 2933 MT/s with most Gold 53xx, 2667 MT/s with Silver 43xx. DL360 Gen10 Plus Memory

Drives

Up to 10 SFF drives (8 front, 2 in the Universal Media Bay) or 4 LFF drives in the 4LFF model. The 8SFF model needs a backplane kit for front drives, and the 2SFF media-bay cage needs an 8SFF backplane. The 2SFF SAS/SATA cage (P26435-B21) cannot be connected to a tri-mode controller.

SFF drives are BC (Basic Carrier) in SAS, SATA or NVMe; U.3 drives go in the tri-mode U.3 backplanes, U.2 drives in the x4 NVMe U.2 backplane. Direct-attached NVMe takes up to 4 front drives per processor, so 8 need both processors.

Every NVMe drive and every 24G SAS drive needs the High Performance Fan Kit, and so does every tri-mode U.3 or NVMe U.2 backplane and cage; the 4LFF model takes no NVMe. LFF hard drives are LFF LP, and HPE lists the LFF SSDs as LFF LPC.

Two NVMe M.2 SSDs fit the NS204i-r riser; it and the NS204i-p boot device also need the High Performance Fan Kit. DL360 Gen10 Plus Drives

Storage controllers

Embedded controller in AHCI or SR100i mode: software RAID for up to 14 SATA drives or 2 NVMe SSDs; SR100i runs in UEFI mode only, is off until enabled and supports Windows Server only. Networking

Expansion

One or two Flex Slot hot-plug power supplies from 500W to 1800W-2200W, including 800W -48VDC, 800W and 1000W Titanium and 800W universal high-voltage AC/DC models.

DL360 Gen10 Plus parts questions

How much memory does the DL360 Gen10 Plus support?

Up to 8TB with two processors: 32 slots with 256GB DDR4-3200 LRDIMMs in every one. HPE requires the High Performance Fan Kit and the DIMM blanks kit with the 256GB kit, limits it to a 25°C inlet and does not support it with the InfiniBand HDR/Ethernet 200Gb 2-port QSFP56 OCP3 adapter. With RDIMMs the maximum is 2TB (64GB in every slot), and the two types do not mix. A single processor can use only its 16 slots. The DL360 Gen10 Plus takes DDR4-3200 kits only, and the processor sets the speed they run at.

Which drives fit the DL360 Gen10 Plus?

2.5-inch SFF drives on the Basic Carrier (BC) in SAS, SATA or NVMe (U.3 and U.2); 3.5-inch LFF drives on the Low Profile (LP) carrier in the 4LFF model, SAS or SATA hard drives and LPC SSDs; and two NVMe M.2 SSDs on the NS204i-r riser. Which interfaces work depends on the backplane and on whether it connects to a Smart Array controller, a tri-mode controller or the embedded controller. NVMe and 24G SAS drives, and the tri-mode and NVMe backplanes, need the High Performance Fan Kit.

Is my server a DL360 Gen10, Gen10 Plus or Gen11?

Read the processor model in iLO under System Information › Processors. On a Xeon Scalable processor, named Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze, the second digit of the model number is the generation. A 3 (x3xx, such as Gold 6338 or Silver 4314) means 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable and a DL360 Gen10 Plus, with DDR4-3200 memory in 32 slots. A 1 or 2 (Gold 6130, Gold 6230) means a DL360 Gen10, with DDR4-2666 or DDR4-2933 memory in 24 slots; a 4 or 5 (Gold 6430, Gold 6530) means a DL360 Gen11, with DDR5 memory. Memory kits and processors differ between them, so buy those from the page for your generation.

Do DL360 Gen10 Plus processors come with a heat sink?

No. HPE ships the processors without heat sinks or fans, so order them separately. Processors of 150W or more need the High Performance Heat Sink Kit (P26479-B21); below 150W the Standard Heat Sink Kit (P37863-B21). Processors of 205W or more also need the High Performance Fan Kit (P26477-B21), which NVMe SSDs and 100GbE or faster adapters need too. A second processor needs 7 fans in all: the Standard Fan Kit (P37861-B21) adds 2 to the 5 standard ones, for processors up to 195W. Processors up to 140W or from 230W also need the DIMM blanks kit (P07818-B21).
