• Expansion: seven PCIe Gen2 mezzanine slots — four Type II x8, two Type I x4, and one Ethernet-specific Type I x8 slot that raises the embedded port count to eight
• Power and cooling: none in the blade. The enclosure carries up to six hot-plug power supplies and up to ten Active Cool fans, and HPE requires ten fans in a c7000 or six in a c3000 for this blade
• Management: embedded HPE iLO 3, with an internal USB 2.0 port, a MicroSDHC slot and a TPM 1.2 connector

This is a full height, double wide blade, and that shapes every order for it. A c7000 enclosure takes up to four of them where it takes up to eight BL620c G7 blades, and the blade brings no power supplies or fans of its own — the enclosure supplies both. What you get for the space is four processor sockets and 64 RDIMM slots behind only four drive bays.

Up to four, and up to two in a c3000. It is a full height, double wide blade, which is why the same c7000 enclosure holds up to eight BL620c G7 blades.

Does the BL680c G7 have its own power supplies and fans?
No. Power and cooling come from the c-Class enclosure, which carries up to six hot-plug power supplies and up to ten Active Cool fans. HPE requires ten fans in a c7000, or six in a c3000, for this blade.

How many processors does a BL680c G7 need?
Two, three or four. One processor is not supported, and the minimum configuration is two processors installed in sockets CPU1 and CPU3. Every processor in the blade must be identical.

How much memory can a BL680c G7 take?
2.0TB, using 32GB registered DIMMs across all 64 slots. The slots follow the processors at sixteen per installed processor, so a two-processor blade has 32 usable slots rather than 64.

How many drives does a BL680c G7 hold?
Four hot-plug SFF bays, reaching 4.8TB on 1.2TB SAS drives or 4.0TB on 1TB SATA. SAS, SATA and SSD drives cannot be mixed within the blade.

What networking is built into the BL680c G7?
Six embedded NC553i 10Gb FlexFabric ports, each autosensing between 10Gb and 1Gb, with Flex-10, FCoE, TCP/IP offload, accelerated iSCSI and iSCSI boot. A dedicated Ethernet mezzanine slot raises that to eight embedded ports, and iLO 3 has its own 10/100 port.
