NOTE: This server model can be configured to use either 2.5 inch Small Form Factor (SFF) drives OR 3.5 inch Large Form Factor drives. Please be sure to verify which type your machine is configured to use before placing an order. If you are unsure about which type you need, please visit the section #1 – Does my machine use 2.5 inch SFF or 3.5 inch LFF drives? in our blog post here for help making this decision.
The SFF models have four slots per vertical column with a max of 16 total hard drive slots), while the LFF models have two slots per column.
You can use either SAS or SATA drives in the DL380 G6. Most customers opt for Enterprise SAS drives due to the superior performance - faster data transfer rates and spindle speeds. See the full list of available drives below. Feel free to contact us via Live Chat with with questions about hard drives for DL380G6 servers.
NOTE: The components of a storage subsystem (e.g. the drive, the HBA/controller, firmware, and the server backplane) should operate at the same data transfer rate or the system bandwidth will be negotiated down to an acceptable level for all components.
