NOTE: This server model can be configured to use either 2.5 inch Small Form Factor (SFF) drives OR 3.5 inch Large Form Factor drives. Please be sure to verify which type your machine is configured to use before placing an order. NOTE: The components of a storage subsystem (e.g. the drive, the HBA/controller, and the server backplane) should operate at the same data transfer rate or the system bandwidth will be negotiated down to an acceptable level for all components.

Storage Controllers

NOTE: The addition of storage controllers for internal hard drive use is intended for use ONLY with the Hot Plug SATA/SAS Model Chassis (P/N 491532-B21). The addition of a storage controller to the Non-Hot Plug Model Chassis (P/N 491531-B21) is supported for external storage ONLY.
NOTE: To utilize the internal only slot, the HPE Smart Array P410 Controller must be selected. The selection of the HPE Smart Array P212 Controller for internal and external connectivity, will require the use of the Full Length Full Height PCI-E x16 slot
NOTE: With the HPE Smart Array P410 Controller, the addition of the battery backed cache upgrade enables BBWC, RAID 5, 5+0, array expansion, logical drive extension, RAID migration, and stripe size migration.In order to upgrade to RAID 6, at least 256MB Cache and a Battery is required in addition to the HPE Smart Array Advanced Pack license (P/N 516471-B21).
