What does 512e and Digitally Signed Firmware mean for a replacement?
512e is Advanced Format: the drive uses 4K physical sectors while presenting 512-byte logical sectors to the controller. Mixing 512e with other 512e drives in an array is the expected configuration. Digitally Signed Firmware means the firmware image is cryptographically signed and validated before it loads, which is required on Gen10 and later platforms that enforce firmware authenticity checks.
What is the interface speed and throughput of this drive?
The drive has one SAS port operating at 12 Gb/s, the third-generation Serial Attached SCSI interface, with a rated data transfer rate of 1.2 GB/s. Spindle speed is 10,000 rpm and capacity is 2.4 TB. SAS 12 Gb/s controllers and backplanes negotiate down to earlier SAS speeds, so the drive can also be used behind slower SAS infrastructure at the reduced link rate.

Returns
It is the customer's responsibility to verify compatibility with their machine(s) before placing an order. If an item is ordered by mistake, it can be returned for refund, minus a 25% restocking fee, within 5 business days of receipt. The cost of freight is not refundable.

Defective Products

In case your hardware becomes defective during the Global One warranty period, but the HPE warranty has expired, you can return the product to us for a working replacement. You are responsible for the shipment of returned merchandise. However, we will cover the expense of Ground /Economy shipment for the replacement item(s).
