This is a single-socket AMD EPYC server with no built-in network ports. The DL345 Gen12 takes exactly one 5th Gen EPYC 9005 processor, and HPE lists no embedded Ethernet — only the dedicated iLO port — so every build needs an OCP 3.0 or PCIe adapter before it can join a network. Memory is DDR5-6400 RDIMM only, and the chassis you own (SFF/EDSFF, 8LFF or GPU) decides which drives will fit.

Is the DL345 Gen12 a single-socket server?
Yes. It takes exactly one 5th Generation AMD EPYC 9005 processor in an SP5 socket, with up to 192 cores, 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes and 12 memory channels on that one processor. There is no second socket to populate.

How much memory does the DL345 Gen12 support?
6TB, using 24 x 256GB DDR5 RDIMMs across its 24 slots. A full single-DIMM-per-channel fill of 12 x 256GB gives 3TB. HPE DDR5 Smart Memory RDIMMs only - LRDIMM and persistent memory are not supported.

How many drives fit in a DL345 Gen12?
Up to 24 SFF or 36 EDSFF E3.S drives in the SFF/EDSFF chassis, which can mix the two form factors; up to 12 LFF drives in the 8LFF chassis with the optional 4 LFF bay, or 8 LFF plus 2 SFF; and 8 SFF or 8 E3.S drives in the GPU chassis. An optional rear 2SFF cage is also listed.

Does the DL345 Gen12 have built-in network ports?
No. HPE lists no embedded network ports on this server, only the dedicated 1Gb iLO management port. Every build needs at least one OCP 3.0 or PCIe stand-up adapter, and the default rear OCP slot A is where most builds start.

Which GPUs does the DL345 Gen12 support?
NVIDIA L4 24GB, L40S 48GB, RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell 32GB and RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell 96GB. The server takes up to six single-width or four double-width GPUs; the L4 fits at the rear of the SFF/EDSFF and LFF chassis, while the double-width cards install at the front of the GPU chassis.

Will DL345 Gen11 memory work in a DL345 Gen12?
Not if it is DDR5-4800 or DDR5-5600. The Gen12 document lists only DDR5-6400 kits and states that 5600 MT/s and 4800 MT/s DIMMs are not supported with its Turin processors. Some Gen11-named kits are listed for the Gen12, though - the DL3X5 Gen11 2U standard heat sink and fan kits and the DL3XX Gen11 Easy Install rail kit.
