HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen10 Parts

The HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen10 is the two-socket 4U tower built on the Intel C622 chipset, taking Intel Xeon Scalable processors across 24 DDR4 slots and a front end that starts at eight small form factor bays or four large ones. Every part below is genuine HPE, available new and refurbished, and tested for compatibility before it ships. Live pricing for each part number appears in the tables further down this page.

ML350 Gen10 Platform at a Glance

  • Form factor: a 4U tower with rack conversion capability, 18.2in (H) × 25.51in (D) × 6.85in (W), weighing 46.30 lb in a minimum build and 92.59 lb fully loaded
  • Processors: up to two Intel Xeon Scalable, Bronze through Platinum, reaching 28 cores and 38.5MB of L3 cache per processor
  • Memory: 24 DDR4 slots — twelve per processor, six channels per processor, two DIMMs per channel — to 1.5TB Registered or 3TB Load Reduced
  • Chassis types: 8 SFF hot-plug, 4 LFF hot-plug or 4 LFF non-hot-plug, growing to 24 SFF or 12 LFF, with mixed cages supported in one machine
  • Maximum internal storage: HPE publishes 240.0TB on twelve 20TB LFF drives, 368.64TB on 15.36TB SFF SAS SSDs and 61.44TB across eight NVMe
  • Storage controller: embedded Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 software RAID across 14 SATA ports, or Smart Array E-series and P-series SR Gen10 cards
  • Networking: an embedded HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 369i Adapter, a dedicated iLO 5 management port and a front iLO Service Port
  • Expansion: up to eight PCIe 3.0 full-height, full-length slots, four of them fed by the second processor
  • Power and cooling: Flex Slot hot-plug supplies at 500W, 800W and 1600W; two rear fans on a one-processor machine and six on a two-processor one
  • Management: iLO 5 with an Immutable Silicon Root of Trust, Server Configuration Lock, One Button Secure Erase and TPM 1.2 or 2.0 options

Two things decide most ML350 Gen10 orders: which chassis the tower was built as, and which processor generation is in it. An 8 SFF front end grows to 24 bays and a 4 LFF front end to 12, and the two are not interchangeable. On processors, HPE does not support a field upgrade from a first generation x1xx part to a second generation x2xx part, and the two take different DDR4 grades.

ML350 Gen10 Parts FAQ

What processors does the ML350 Gen10 support?
Up to two Intel Xeon Scalable processors, from Bronze 3200 series to Platinum 8200 series, reaching 28 cores each on the largest parts. HPE does not allow two different processor models in one server, so a second CPU has to match the first.

How much memory can an ML350 Gen10 take?
1.5TB using Registered DIMMs or 3TB using Load Reduced DIMMs, across 24 slots at twenty-four 64GB or 128GB modules respectively. The ceiling per socket is also capped by the processor: an unsuffixed part addresses 1TB, an M part 2TB and an L part 4.5TB.

How many drives fit in an ML350 Gen10?
It depends on the chassis. An 8 SFF chassis takes cage kits up to 24 small form factor drives, and a 4 LFF chassis, hot-plug or non-hot-plug, takes cage kits up to 12 large form factor drives. Mixed SFF and LFF cages are supported in one machine.

Which storage controller is built into the ML350 Gen10?
An embedded HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 software RAID with 14 SATA ports, which is SATA only and off by default. SAS needs a modular or plug-in Smart Array card, and the machine is field upgradeable to SAS by fitting one.

Does the ML350 Gen10 have onboard network ports?
Yes. An embedded HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 369i Adapter provides four Gigabit ports, and there is a separate dedicated iLO 5 management port plus a front iLO Service Port. HPE notes the 369i does not support 100MB/s or 10MB/s speeds.

Can an ML350 Gen10 be mounted in a rack?
Yes. It is a 4U tower with rack conversion capability, and HPE notes that a converted machine occupies 5U of rack height once the 1U sliding rail tray is counted. Rack mode also requires the Redundant Fan Cage Kit.
