P51304-001 is the HPE spare part number for Broadcom BCM5719 Ethernet 1Gb 4-port BASE-T Adapter for HPE. This is the number printed on the adapter label and referenced in HPE service documentation and iLO event logs, so it is the number to match when replacing a failed card. The card is a plug-in PCI Express 2.0 x4 adapter with four RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports driven by a single Broadcom BCM5719 controller. It supports 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and 1000Base-T cabling, with UEFI and legacy BIOS PXE boot, TCP Segmentation Offload, Receive Side Scaling, flow control, and IPv4/IPv6. Operational power draw is 5.78 W.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT P51304-001

What is the difference between P51304-001 and P51178-B21?

They are the same physical adapter under two HPE numbering schemes. P51304-001, the number on this page, is the spare part number — the assembly identifier used in service documentation and on the card label. P51178-B21 is the option kit number used when the adapter is ordered as a sales product. The board, the BCM5719 controller, the four RJ-45 ports and the electrical specifications are identical, so either number replaces the other functionally.

Which servers does this adapter fit?

Listed compatibility covers HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11, DL385 Gen11, DL365 Gen11, DL345 Gen11, DL325 Gen11, DL380 Gen10 Plus, DL360 Gen10 Plus, DL365 Gen10 Plus, DL345 Gen10 Plus, DL385 Gen10 Plus v2 and DL325 Gen10 Plus v2. It installs in a PCI Express 2.0 x4 slot. If you are replacing a failed card, confirm the server model and the slot the original occupied before installation.

What speeds and cable types does it support?

Each of the four ports is an RJ-45 copper interface with a data transfer rate of 1 Gb/s. The adapter supports Ethernet 10Base-T, Fast Ethernet 100Base-TX and Gigabit Ethernet 1000Base-T cabling, so it will negotiate down to older switch ports where needed. Data link protocols supported are Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet. This is a wired copper adapter; there is no fiber option on this card.

Will network boot and offload settings carry over from the failed card?

The adapter supports UEFI PXE Boot and legacy BIOS PXE Boot, plus general PXE, UEFI and ACPI support, so an existing network boot configuration on a matching server can be reapplied. Offload and scaling features include TCP Segmentation Offload and Receive Side Scaling, along with flow control and both IPv4 and IPv6 support. MAC addresses are unique to each card, so DHCP reservations and any MAC-based policies must be updated.

How much power does the card draw?

Operational power consumption is 5.78 watts. The card is a plug-in PCI Express 2.0 x4 adapter and takes its power from the slot, with no auxiliary power connector involved. When planning a replacement in a densely populated riser, this figure is the operational draw for the single BCM5719 controller and its four Gigabit Ethernet ports.
