The DL345 Gen12 has 24 DIMM slots on its one 5th Gen AMD EPYC processor, 12 channels with 2 slots each, and takes one kit family: HPE DDR5-6400 EC8 RDIMMs from 32GB to 256GB. Every kit on this page fits every DL345 Gen12, so the only decision is how much memory you want. Maximum is 6TB with 256GB in every slot, or 3TB with one DIMM per channel.

Specifications match the HPE ProLiant Compute DL345 Gen12 QuickSpecs. LRDIMM and persistent memory are not supported; Gen11 DDR5-4800 and DDR5-5600 kits are not listed for this server.
How population and speed fit together
The processor has 12 memory channels with 2 slots per channel. The kits are rated DDR5-6400, but the server runs them at 5200 MT/s with one DIMM per channel and 4000 MT/s with two, so one DIMM in every channel is the configuration to aim for; the second slot doubles capacity at the lower speed.

HPE qualifies 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 or 24 DIMMs; the picker uses those counts. HPE prints the two-DIMM-per-channel speed as 4000 MT/s in its capacity row and kit speed table, and as 4400 MT/s in one summary line; the page uses the table figure.
Three rules that avoid a return
1 Do not mix x4 and x8, or 3DS and non-3DS
HPE does not support mixing x4 and x8 DIMMs, or 3DS with non-3DS DIMMs: the 32GB kit is x8, the 64GB to 128GB kits are x4 and the 256GB kit is 3DS, so a server keeps to one of those groups. Keep every DIMM in a bank the same capacity and rank.
2 Fill channels for bandwidth
With 12 channels, twelve matching DIMMs give the most bandwidth and keep the higher speed; fill the channels in the order printed on the system board before adding a second DIMM to any channel.
3 Buy -B21, not -F21
Both suffixes describe the same module, but -F21 is sold only inside a factory-built server. The -B21 kits on this page are the ones you can buy and install yourself.
DL345 Gen12 memory questions
How much memory does the HPE ProLiant Compute DL345 Gen12 support?
Up to 6TB: 24 slots with 256GB DDR5 RDIMMs in every one, at 4000 MT/s. With one DIMM per channel the maximum is 3TB (12 x 256GB) at 5200 MT/s. HPE notes that every listed processor supports 6TB.
What type of memory does the DL345 Gen12 use?
HPE DDR5-6400 EC8 registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) in 32GB, 64GB, 96GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. LRDIMM and persistent memory are not supported, and HPE lists no 16GB kit for this server.
What speed will the memory run at?
The kits are rated 6400 MT/s, but the server runs them at 5200 MT/s with one DIMM per channel and 4000 MT/s with two: HPE gives those as the maximum operating speeds for this server. A kit rated faster than the server does not run faster.
Can I use Gen11 DDR5 memory from a DL325 or DL345 Gen11?
The DDR5-6400 kits on this page carry the same part numbers HPE lists for the 5th Gen EPYC Gen11 servers, so a DDR5-6400 kit from one of those servers is the same module. The DDR5-4800 kits sold for 4th Gen EPYC are not listed for this server.
