- Boot and M.2: the NS204i-u hot-plug boot device, or an M.2 enablement kit taking two 22110 NVMe or 2280 SATA modules

What is the difference between Read Intensive and Mixed Use SSDs?
Endurance. Read Intensive drives cost less per TB and suit read-heavy serving; Mixed Use drives are built for write-heavy databases and virtualization. Match the class to the workload and never mix classes in one array.

Yes. Multi Vendor (MV) SSDs are HPE-qualified drives with HPE firmware, sourced from multiple flash manufacturers for better availability and pricing. They carry HPE part numbers and full DL325 Gen11 compatibility.
Do DL325 Gen11 NVMe drives need a RAID controller?
Not necessarily. The backplanes support NVMe direct attach with no controller or cable kit, which is how the 20-bay EDSFF chassis normally ships. Add a tri-mode MR-series or SR932i-p controller only when you want hardware RAID.
