- Speeds up to 5600 MT/s — DDR5-4800 with 4th Gen Xeon, DDR5-5600 with 5th Gen Xeon
- Module capacities from 16GB to 256GB per DIMM
- Scales to 8TB total across 32 DIMM slots (16 per processor)
- Genuine HPE Smart Memory and qualified compatible options
DL360 Gen11 Memory Compatibility at a Glance
| Specification | DL360 Gen11 Support |
|---|---|
| Memory type | DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM) only |
| Maximum speed | DDR5-4800 (4th Gen Xeon) · up to DDR5-5600 (5th Gen Xeon) |
| Capacities | 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB |
| DIMM slots | 32 total (16 per CPU · 8 channels · 2 DIMMs/channel) |
| Maximum memory | 8TB (32 × 256GB) |
| Processors | 4th & 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable |
⚠️ Match your memory speed to your CPU generation. The DL360 Gen11 runs either 4th or 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, and the CPU—not the DIMM—sets the maximum memory speed. DDR5 RDIMMs are cross-compatible, but a faster module simply runs at your processor's top supported rate.
| 4th Gen Xeon (Sapphire Rapids) | Max DDR5-4800 | Choose DDR5-4800 ECC RDIMMs |
| 5th Gen Xeon (Emerald Rapids) | Up to DDR5-5600* | Choose DDR5-5600 ECC RDIMMs |
*Top 5th Gen SKUs reach 5600 MT/s at one DIMM per channel; some lower-bin CPUs cap lower, and two DIMMs per channel run at 4800 MT/s. Mixing speeds forces all DIMMs to the slowest installed speed.

DL360 Gen11 Memory FAQ
Which memory do I need — DDR5-4800 or DDR5-5600?
It depends on your CPU. The DL360 Gen11 uses 4th or 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, and the processor sets the maximum memory speed. Pair 4th Gen Xeon (Sapphire Rapids) with DDR5-4800 RDIMMs, and 5th Gen Xeon (Emerald Rapids) with DDR5-5600 RDIMMs. DDR5 RDIMMs are backward compatible, so a DDR5-5600 module runs in a 4th Gen system but only at 4800 MT/s—and a DDR5-4800 module in a 5th Gen system also caps at 4800. To reach 5600 MT/s you need a 5th Gen CPU, DDR5-5600 modules, and one DIMM per channel. If different speeds are mixed, all DIMMs run at the slowest installed speed. Not sure which CPU you have? Check the processor model in iLO or System Information, or contact us with your server details.
Does the DL360 Gen11 support LRDIMM?
No. The DL360 Gen11 supports DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM) only. LRDIMM, UDIMM, and non-ECC modules are not compatible.
What is the maximum memory for a DL360 Gen11?
Up to 8TB, using 32 × 256GB DDR5 RDIMMs across all 32 DIMM slots.
