HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen10 Power Supplies
Genuine HPE Flexible Slot power supplies for the HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen10, new and refurbished. The chassis takes up to four hot-plug supplies and they all have to match, and the two Platinum units here pull opposite ways: the 800W is a four-unit order by HPE's rule, the 1600W will not run on a 120V feed.

- Also specified for the platform: an 800W −48VDC unit, a 1000W Titanium at 96%, and an 1800W–2200W Titanium capped at 1600W on Gen10
- Matching and contents: all supplies must match, mixing is not supported, and each kit contains the supply and a PDU IEC cable
Two rules decide most DL580 Gen10 power supply orders. Every supply in the server must match on output and efficiency rating, because HPE does not support mixing them; and the 1600W Platinum unit runs on high line voltage only, 200VAC to 240VAC. The 800W Platinum is specified as a set of four rather than as a single supply.

A four-socket chassis carrying 205W processors, 48 DIMMs and a full drive front end is a different power budget from a two-processor machine, which is why the 1600W supply exists and why the 800W is specified in fours. Read the label on the installed supply before ordering: HPE requires every supply to share the same output and efficiency rating.
Choosing the Right DL580 Gen10 Power Supply
- Check the feed before the wattage. The 1600W unit supports 200VAC to 240VAC only and will not start on a 120V circuit.
- Treat 800W as a set. HPE specifies four for this server, so a single unit replaces a failed one rather than powering the machine.
- Mixing is not supported. Output and efficiency must match across every bay, so Platinum and Titanium are a mismatch even at the same wattage.
- Re-size after a processor or drive change. HPE publishes the Power Advisor for exactly this, and a machine that has gained sockets or boxes is the case that catches people out.
- Fans are separate. The 12 hot-plug fans ship N+1 with the chassis, not in a supply kit.

Can I mix power supplies in a DL580 Gen10?
No. HPE states that all power supplies in a server should match and that mixing them is not supported. Output and efficiency rating both have to be the same across every bay.
Will a 1600W power supply work on a 120V circuit?
No. The 1600W Flex Slot Platinum unit supports high line voltage only, 200VAC to 240VAC. On a 120V feed the 800W Platinum unit is the one rated for it.
Why does HPE specify four 800W power supplies?
Because the 800W unit is documented for this server as a set of four rather than as a single supply. A four-socket chassis with a full memory and drive configuration needs the combined output.
Are DL580 Gen10 power supplies hot-plug?
Yes. Flex Slot supplies are hot-plug and tool-less, so one can be replaced while the server keeps running as long as the remaining units carry the load.
