HPE ProLiant DL110 Gen12 Networking Adapters
Genuine HPE network adapters for the HPE ProLiant Compute DL110 Gen12, new and refurbished. It has eight 10/25Gbps ports on the motherboard before any card is fitted, and HPE quotes up to 20 10/25GbE ports with option cards. Which cards fit depends entirely on which I/O kit the chassis was built with, so start there.
DL110 Gen12 Networking Specifications
- Onboard: eight 10/25Gbps Ethernet ports on the motherboard, front accessible; up to 20 10/25GbE ports with option cards
- PCIe configuration: the 2x16 FHHL PCIe riser kit provides two full-height half-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for up to two cards, NIC or accelerator; HPE states the OCP options are not supported when this riser is selected
- OCP configuration: the DSFF OCP kit provides slot A, an OCP NIC 3.0 Dual Small Form Factor slot, and the SFF OCP cable kit provides slot B, an OCP NIC 3.0 Small Form Factor slot, both PCIe 5.0 x16; each kit takes exactly one card
- PCIe adapters listed: Broadcom BCM5719 1Gb 4-port BASE-T; Mellanox MCX631102AS-ADAT 10/25Gb 2-port SFP28; Intel E810-XXVDA2 10/25Gb 2-port and E810-XXVDA4 10/25Gb 4-port SFP28, with MCLK and MCLK Non-GNSS variants of the 4-port; Mellanox MCX623106AS-CDAT 100Gb 2-port QSFP56
- SFF OCP 3.0 adapters listed: Broadcom BCM5719 1Gb 4-port BASE-T OCP3; Intel E810-XXVDA2 2-port and E810-XXVDA4 4-port 10/25Gb SFP28 OCP3; Intel E830-XXVDA4F 10/25Gb 4-port SFP28; Intel E810-CQDA2 100Gb 2-port QSFP28 OCP3
- DSFF OCP 3.0 adapter listed: Intel E830-XXVDA8F 10/25Gb 8-port SFP28 OCP3, the card that reaches the 20-port figure
- DPUs: HPE Data Processing Unit InfiniBand NDR200/Ethernet 200Gb 2-port QSFP112 FHHL B3220 and InfiniBand NDR/Ethernet 400Gb 1-port QSFP112 HHHL B3140H; HPE requires the DL110 Gen12 adapter power cable for NVIDIA BF3 whenever the B3140H is selected
Check which I/O kit the chassis was built with before choosing a card. The 2x16 FHHL PCIe riser and the DSFF and SFF OCP kits are alternatives for the same space, and HPE states the OCP options are not supported when the riser is selected. A riser-built server takes two PCIe cards, NIC or accelerator; an OCP-built server takes exactly one DSFF card in slot A and exactly one SFF card in slot B. The only DSFF card listed is the 8-port Intel E830-XXVDA8F.
Which adapters fit which DL110 Gen12?
| Chassis built with | Slots available | Cards that fit |
|---|---|---|
| 2x16 FHHL PCIe Riser Kit | Two PCIe 5.0 x16 FHHL slots | The PCIe adapters, the two DPUs, the NVIDIA L4 and Qualcomm X100 accelerators — any two |
| DSFF OCP Kit + SFF OCP Cable Kit | One DSFF OCP 3.0 slot (A) and one SFF OCP 3.0 slot (B) | One E830-XXVDA8F 8-port in slot A; one SFF OCP3 adapter in slot B |
The two configurations do not mix: HPE is explicit that OCP I/O is not supported once the PCIe riser is selected, and each OCP kit requires exactly one card of its own form factor. The PCIe build is where DPUs and accelerators go; the OCP build is the port-density option, with the 8-port DSFF card taking the server from eight 25GbE ports to sixteen and an SFF card adding the rest.
Choosing the Right DL110 Gen12 Network Adapter
- Match the OCP form factor to the slot. The 8-port E830-XXVDA8F is the only DSFF card listed and goes in slot A; every other OCP adapter here is SFF and goes in slot B.
- Pick the E810-XXVDA4 variant deliberately. HPE lists the 4-port Intel E810-XXVDA4 three ways — plain, MCLK, and MCLK Non-GNSS — as three different part numbers. The document does not expand the abbreviations, so match the variant to the timing design of the deployment rather than to price.
- Order the power cable with the 400Gb DPU. HPE states the DL110 Gen12 adapter power cable for NVIDIA BF3 must be selected with the B3140H; the cable is listed on the DL110 Gen12 parts page.
- Count riser slots against accelerators. The riser's two slots are shared between NICs and accelerators, so an NVIDIA L4 or Qualcomm X100 card leaves one slot for networking.

DL110 Gen12 Networking Adapters FAQ
How many network ports does the DL110 Gen12 have as standard?
Eight. The motherboard carries eight 10/25Gbps Ethernet ports, all front accessible, plus a dedicated 1Gb RJ-45 for HPE iLO 7. HPE quotes up to 20 10/25GbE ports with option cards fitted.
Can I use OCP 3.0 cards and PCIe cards together in a DL110 Gen12?
No. The server is built either with the 2x16 FHHL PCIe riser kit or with the DSFF and SFF OCP kits, and HPE states the OCP I/O options are not supported when the riser is selected.
What is the difference between the DSFF and SFF OCP slots?
Form factor. Slot A takes one OCP NIC 3.0 Dual Small Form Factor card - the Intel E830-XXVDA8F 8-port 10/25Gb is the DSFF card listed - and slot B takes one OCP NIC 3.0 Small Form Factor card, which is every other OCP adapter on this page. Both are PCIe 5.0 x16.
How does the DL110 Gen12 reach 20 10/25GbE ports?
HPE quotes up to 20 10/25GbE ports. The listed cards add up that way on the OCP build: eight onboard ports, the 8-port Intel E830-XXVDA8F DSFF OCP3 card in slot A and a 4-port SFF OCP3 adapter in slot B. The PCIe build's two slots take two 4-port cards, for sixteen.
Does the DL110 Gen12 support 100Gb or 200Gb networking?
Yes. HPE lists the Mellanox MCX623106AS-CDAT 100Gb 2-port QSFP56 PCIe adapter, the Intel E810-CQDA2 100Gb 2-port QSFP28 OCP3 adapter, and two HPE data processing units at 200Gb (B3220, 2-port) and 400Gb (B3140H, 1-port). The B3140H requires the DL110 Gen12 adapter power cable for NVIDIA BF3.
Does the DL110 Gen12 support 1Gb BASE-T adapters?
Yes. HPE lists the Broadcom BCM5719 Ethernet 1Gb 4-port BASE-T adapter in both forms - a PCIe card for the riser-built server and an OCP3 card for the SFF OCP slot on the OCP-built server.
