HPE ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 Memory
The ML310e Gen8 v2 has 4 DIMM slots on two channels and takes HPE DDR3 unbuffered ECC DIMMs (UDIMMs) from 2GB to 8GB, rated DDR3-1600 or DDR3-1333. Every kit on this page fits every ML310e Gen8 v2, so the only decision is how much memory you want. Maximum is 32GB with 8GB in every slot.

Specifications match the HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2 QuickSpecs. Registered DIMMs from larger ProLiant servers do not work in this server.
How population and speed fit together
The processor has 2 memory channels with 2 slots each. Two matching DIMMs, one per channel, give full bandwidth; four fill the server. Xeon E3-1200 v3 and Core i3-41xx processors run DDR3-1600 kits at 1600 MT/s; Pentium G32xx processors run memory at 1333 MT/s. HPE notes that the memory speed may be 1600 or 1333 MT/s depending on the configuration and the processor.

Three rules that avoid a return
1 Unbuffered ECC only
This server takes unbuffered ECC DIMMs. Registered and load-reduced kits from DL and larger ML servers will not work.
2 Install in matched pairs
Two identical DIMMs, one in each channel, run in dual-channel mode. When you add a second pair, match it to the first.
3 Match what is already installed
Adding to existing memory? Read the HP part number on the DIMM label and buy the same kit, so the pair in each channel stays matched.
