HPE ProLiant DL345 Gen10 Plus Memory
The DL345 Gen10 Plus has 16 DIMM slots, on its one processor, and takes one kit family: HPE DDR4-3200 SmartMemory, RDIMMs from 8GB to 64GB and LRDIMMs of 128GB and 256GB. Every kit on this page fits every DL345 Gen10 Plus with AMD EPYC 7003 series (and the 7232P, 7302P, 7402P, 7502P and 7702P) processors, so the decisions are how much memory you want. Maximum is 4TB with 256GB LRDIMMs in every slot, at 2933 MT/s (two DIMMs per channel).

Specifications match the HPE ProLiant DL345 Gen10 Plus QuickSpecs. RDIMMs and LRDIMMs cannot be mixed in the same server.
How population and speed fit together
Each processor has 8 memory channels with 2 slots per channel. One DIMM in every channel runs the kit at 3200 MT/s; filling the second slot doubles capacity and, for the 8GB to 128GB kits on an EPYC 7003 processor, keeps 3200 MT/s; the 256GB kit and the 7xx2 processors drop to 2933 MT/s with two per channel.

HPE: "8GB~128GB memory SKUs can run the transfer rate of 3200 MT/s at both 1 DIMM and 2 DIMM per channel. 256GB memory SKU can run ... 3200 MT/s at 1 DIMM per channel, but only 2933 MT/s at 2 DIMM per channel"; "7xx2 processors can't support 2 DIMM per channel @3200MT/s but 2DPC @2933MT/s". The QuickSpecs give no DIMM-count table (they point to HPE's Gen10 Plus population-rules paper); the picker uses the balanced layouts 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 per processor.
Three rules that avoid a return
1 RDIMM or LRDIMM, never both
The 8GB to 64GB kits are RDIMMs; the 128GB and 256GB kits are LRDIMMs. A server takes one or the other, and HPE does not allow mixing x4 and x8 DIMMs. If memory is already installed, match the part number on the existing DIMM label.
2 Fill channels for bandwidth
Eight matching DIMMs per processor fill every channel once. Four per processor is a sensible budget build; sixteen per processor is the capacity maximum.
3 Mind the 256GB kit
The 256GB 3DS LRDIMM (P07654-B21) runs 2933 MT/s with two per channel, and HPE's ambient-temperature table rules it out of the 12LFF chassis and limits it to 25°C to 35°C in the others.

Up to 4TB: 16 slots with 256GB DDR4-3200 LRDIMMs in every one. With 64GB registered DIMMs the maximum is 1TB. HPE: every listed EPYC processor supports up to 4TB.
What type of memory does the DL345 Gen10 Plus use?
HPE DDR4-3200 SmartMemory for AMD EPYC 7003 series (and the 7232P, 7302P, 7402P, 7502P and 7702P) processors: registered DIMMs from 8GB to 64GB and load-reduced DIMMs of 128GB and 256GB.
What speed will the memory run at?
3200 MT/s with one DIMM per channel (up to 8 DIMMs). With both slots of a channel filled, the 8GB to 128GB kits keep 3200 MT/s on EPYC 7003 processors; the 256GB kit, and any kit on a 7xx2 processor, runs 2933 MT/s.
Can I use DL385 Gen10 Plus or Gen10 memory?
The DDR4-3200 family is the same, so the kits are the same modules; check the part number on the existing DIMM before mixing, since HPE does not allow x4 and x8 DIMMs together. The DDR4-2666 and DDR4-2933 Gen10 kits are not listed for this server.
