HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen11 Processors
Genuine Intel Xeon Scalable processor kits for the HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen11, new and refurbished, tested for compatibility before shipping. The ML110 Gen11 is a single-socket server, so a processor purchase is a replacement or a step up, and HPE lists fifteen kits for it across two generations: eight Fourth Generation Xeon Scalable parts and seven Fifth Generation parts, from an 8-core Bronze to a 32-core Gold. The generation also decides which memory the server takes.

- Memory grade by generation: DDR5-4800 kits with Fourth Generation processors, DDR5-5600 kits with Fifth, per HPE
- SGX enclave: 128GB on the Gold parts, 64GB on the Silver and Bronze parts, per HPE's per-kit notes
- Restrictions on three parts: the Silver 4510, Silver 4509Y and Bronze 3508U do not support the Intel VROC NVMe feature or the 96GB DDR5-5600 DIMM; the Bronze 3508U runs PCIe at Gen4
- GPU limit: HPE limits the processor to 150W TDP when the NVIDIA L4 GPU is installed
- Chipset: Intel C741
The processor generation fixes the memory family, and its speed ceiling fixes the memory speed. DDR5-4800 kits go with Fourth Generation Xeon Scalable processors and DDR5-5600 kits with Fifth, so a cross-generation processor change is a memory change too. Only the Gold 6426Y, 5512U and 5515+ run memory at 4800 MT/s; the Silver 4510, 4509Y and Bronze 3508U also exclude the 96GB DIMM and VROC NVMe, and HPE limits the processor to 150W when an NVIDIA L4 GPU is installed.
Which ML110 Gen11 processor should you choose?
| Need | Processor | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Most cores | Gold 6421N (32-core, 4th Gen) or Gold 5512U (28-core, 5th Gen) | The two highest core counts listed; the 5512U pairs with DDR5-5600 at 4800 MT/s, the 6421N with DDR5-4800 at 4400 |
| Highest clock | Gold 5515+ (3.2GHz, 8-core, 5th Gen) | The fastest base clock listed, at 4800 MT/s memory and a 128GB SGX enclave |
| Full memory speed on a budget | Gold 6426Y (2.5GHz, 16-core, 4th Gen) | The only Fourth Generation kit HPE lists at 4800 MT/s |
| Lowest power or an L4 GPU build | Silver 4509Y or Bronze 3508U (125W) | Under the 150W processor limit HPE sets for the L4 GPU, but neither supports the 96GB DIMM or VROC NVMe |
| Balanced Fifth Generation | Silver 4514Y (16-core, 150W) or 4516Y+ (24-core, 185W) | Mainstream core counts with DDR5-5600 and a 4400 MT/s memory ceiling |
Because this is a one-socket server there is no second processor to match, so the trade-offs are internal to the kit: cores against clock, TDP against the GPU limit, and the memory ceiling the processor imposes on DIMMs that could run faster. The three 4800 MT/s parts — 6426Y, 5512U, 5515+ — are the ones that let the memory run at its rated speed with one DIMM per channel.
Choosing the Right ML110 Gen11 Processor
- Choose the generation first. It fixes the memory family: DDR5-4800 with Fourth Generation, DDR5-5600 with Fifth. A processor change across generations is a memory change too.
- Read the memory ceiling. HPE states a maximum memory speed on every kit; only three of the fifteen reach 4800 MT/s, and three sit at 4000.
- Avoid the 4510, 4509Y and 3508U if you need VROC NVMe or 96GB DIMMs. HPE excludes both on those parts; the 3508U is also PCIe Gen4 only.
- Stay at 150W or below for an L4 GPU. HPE's L4 note limits the processor TDP; that rules out the 165W and 185W parts in a GPU build.
- Option-list kits only. HPE's specification tables mention a few additional processor models that do not appear in its option list for this server; the kits sold here are the fifteen HPE lists as orderable.

ML110 Gen11 Processors FAQ
Which processors does the ML110 Gen11 support?
One Intel Fourth or Fifth Generation Xeon Scalable processor. HPE lists fifteen kits: Fourth Generation Gold 6426Y, 6421N, 5418Y, 5416S, 5411N and 5415+ and Silver 4416+ and 4410Y; Fifth Generation Gold 5512U and 5515+, Silver 4516Y+, 4514Y, 4510 and 4509Y, and Bronze 3508U.
Can I add a second processor to an ML110 Gen11?
No. The ML110 Gen11 is a single-socket server with one socket available, on the Intel C741 chipset. A processor purchase for it is a replacement or an upgrade of the one installed.
Which ML110 Gen11 processors support 4800 MT/s memory?
Three, per HPE's per-kit notes: the Fourth Generation Gold 6426Y and the Fifth Generation Gold 5512U and 5515+. Most others are limited to 4400 MT/s, and the Gold 5416S, Silver 4416+ and Silver 4410Y to 4000 MT/s.
Does changing processor generation in an ML110 Gen11 change the memory?
Yes. HPE ties the DDR5-4800 kits to Fourth Generation processors and the DDR5-5600 kits to Fifth Generation. Moving from one generation to the other means moving to the matching memory family.
Which ML110 Gen11 processors work with the NVIDIA L4 GPU?
Those at 150W or less, since HPE limits the processor to 150W TDP when the L4 is installed: the Gold 5416S and 5415+, the Silver 4410Y, 4514Y, 4510 and 4509Y, and the Bronze 3508U. The 165W and 185W kits are excluded.
What are the restrictions on the Silver 4510, 4509Y and Bronze 3508U in the ML110 Gen11?
HPE states these three do not support the Intel VROC NVMe feature and do not support the 96GB DDR5-5600 DIMM, and that the Bronze 3508U supports PCIe up to Gen4 only. All three are limited to 4400 MT/s memory and a 64GB SGX enclave.
