  • Power cords are not sold here; HPE notes that pre-configured servers include one and that an optional cord must be ordered per power supply

Size the power supply on the voltage you will actually plug into. Every M-CRPS kit for the DL525 Gen13 delivers less on 100 to 127 VAC than its label — the 3200W kit gives 1600W, the 2400W kit 1200W, the 1500W kit 1000W to 1100W and the 1000W kit 800W — and HPE does not support mixing different types of power supply in one server, so both bays must hold the same kit.

How much power does each DL525 Gen13 power supply deliver?

Every M-CRPS kit delivers less on low-line 100 to 127 VAC than its label, and the 3200W and 2400W kits deliver half. HPE's rated steady-state output per power supply:

HPE's maximum BTU ratings follow the same pattern: 3044 BTU/hr at 100 VAC and 3680 at 200 VAC for the 1000W kit, up to 5132 at 100 VAC and 11713 at 230 VAC for the 3200W kit. Size the supply on the voltage the rack will actually deliver, and use the HPE Power Advisor for the configuration.

Choosing the Right DL525 Gen13 Power Supply

  • Buy two of the same kit. HPE does not support mixing power supply types within a server, so both bays hold identical kits. Redundancy means a matched pair.
  • Plan for GPUs. The Front FHFL PCIe server can carry two RTX PRO 6000 accelerators at 450W each or four RTX PRO 4500 at 165W each, on top of a processor of up to 600W; HPE's maximum acoustic configurations pair the GPU build with 2400W supplies.
  • Low-line racks halve the big kits. On 100 to 127 VAC the 3200W kit delivers 1600W and the 2400W kit 1200W. A 200 to 240 VAC feed is the only way to get the labelled output from either.
  • -48VDC needs the lug kit. The 1300W DC kit pairs with the 1000-1300W power lug kit and the 2200W DC kit with the 2000-2200W power lug kit. The lug kits are terminal hardware and are listed on this page; DC power cords are not.
  • Check the width. HPE offers M-CRPS supplies in 73.5mm and 60mm widths for hot-plug, tool-less installation into ProLiant Gen13 performance servers.

DL525 Gen13 Power Supplies FAQ

What power supplies does the HPE ProLiant DL525 Gen13 use?
HPE M-CRPS Titanium hot-plug power supply kits: 1000W, 1500W, 2400W and 3200W, plus a 2800W 277VAC kit, and for DC power the 1300W and 2200W -48VDC kits with their power lug kits. The server takes up to two, and HPE does not support mixing types.

How many power supplies does the DL525 Gen13 take?
Up to two HPE M-CRPS hot-plug power supplies at the rear. For redundancy install two of the same kit; HPE does not support mixing different types of power supply within a server.

Can I mix a 1500W and a 2400W power supply in a DL525 Gen13?
No. HPE states that mixing different types of power supplies within a server domain is not supported. Both bays must hold the same kit.

What does a 3200W power supply deliver on 120V?
1600W. HPE rates the 3200W M-CRPS kit at 1600W on 100 to 127 VAC and 3200W on 200 to 240 VAC. The 2400W kit likewise delivers 1200W on low line, and the 1500W kit 1000W to 1100W.

Does the DL525 Gen13 power supply come with a power cord?
HPE's document says pre-configured servers include a power cord and that any optional cord must be ordered in the same quantity as the power supplies. Power cords are not listed on this page; the -48VDC power lug kits are.

Which power supply do I need for GPUs in a DL525 Gen13?
Size it on the whole configuration. HPE lists the RTX PRO 6000 at 450W each (up to two) and the RTX PRO 4500 at 165W each (up to four), alongside processors of up to 600W, and its own maximum GPU test configuration uses two 2400W M-CRPS supplies. Use the HPE Power Advisor for your exact build.
