HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen12 Memory

HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen12 Memory

Upgrade your HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen12 server with genuine DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM) memory. This 1U dual-socket platform pairs two Intel® Xeon® 6 processors with high-bandwidth DDR5 for dense enterprise and hybrid-cloud workloads, and every module we sell is guaranteed compatible with your DL360 Gen12.

DL360 Gen12 Memory Specifications

  • Memory type: DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM). The DL360 Gen12 does not support LRDIMM, UDIMM, or non-ECC memory.
  • Speed: Up to 6400 MT/s at 1 DIMM per channel, stepping down to 6000 MT/s at 2 DIMMs per channel (the maximum is set by the installed Intel® Xeon® 6 processors).
  • Capacities: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB modules.
  • Maximum memory: Up to 8TB across 32 DIMM slots — 16 per processor, 8 channels per CPU, 2 DIMMs per channel (both processors must be installed to use all 32 slots).

Match your memory to your Xeon 6 CPUs and DIMM layout. The DL360 Gen12 runs DDR5 RDIMM at up to 6400 MT/s with one DIMM per channel, dropping to 6000 MT/s when both slots in a channel are filled. Your specific Intel® Xeon® 6 processors set the ceiling, and the server runs all memory at the speed of the slowest module installed — so use matched HPE DDR5-6400 Smart Memory and populate both processors evenly for full performance.

Memory Population Rules

For best performance, install matched DDR5 RDIMM kits, fill the white (first) slot in each channel before the second, and balance memory evenly across both processors. Supported DIMM counts per processor are 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, or 16 with P-core Xeon® 6 CPUs (1, 2, 4, 8, or 16 with E-core CPUs), and 256GB modules require the HPE High-Performance Fan Kit. DL360 Gen12 Memory FAQ

What type of memory does the HPE DL360 Gen12 use?
DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM) memory only — LRDIMM, unbuffered (UDIMM), and non-ECC modules are not supported.

How much memory can the DL360 Gen12 hold?
Up to 8TB total, using 32 × 256GB DDR5 RDIMMs (16 DIMM slots per processor). A single-processor configuration is limited to 16 slots and 4TB, and 256GB modules require high-performance fans.

What is the maximum memory speed?
Up to 6400 MT/s with one DIMM per channel, or 6000 MT/s when both slots in a channel are populated. The exact maximum depends on the installed Intel Xeon 6 processors, and the server runs all memory at the slowest installed speed.

Does the DL360 Gen12 support MRDIMM?
The platform supports MRDIMM (up to 8000 MT/s, one DIMM per channel, with P-core Xeon 6 CPUs), but HPE has not yet released MRDIMM kits into the standard ProLiant portfolio. DDR5 RDIMM is the memory to buy for this server today.
