HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen12 Memory
The DL360 Gen12 has 32 DIMM slots, 16 per processor, and takes one kit family: HPE DDR5-6400 EC8 RDIMMs from 16GB to 256GB. Every kit on this page fits every DL360 Gen12, so the only decisions are how many processors you have and how much memory you want. Maximum is 8TB with two processors and 256GB in every slot.

Specifications match the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen12 QuickSpecs. LRDIMM, UDIMM, non-ECC and DDR4 are not supported.
How many DIMMs per processor, and what speed you get
Each processor has 8 memory channels with 2 slots per channel. One DIMM in every channel is the full-speed configuration. Filling the second slot doubles capacity and steps the speed down.

The speed the server delivers is the lowest of the processor rating, the population and the slowest installed DIMM. 16GB kits are supported at one DIMM per channel only. HPE: the DIMM count per processor must be 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 or 16 with Xeon 6xxxP processors (1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 with 67xxE); the picker uses those counts.
Three rules that avoid a return
1 Populate both processors identically
Whatever you install on processor 1, install the same on processor 2. Buy an even number of DIMMs, and keep every DIMM in a bank the same capacity and rank.
2 Buy -B21, not -F21
Both suffixes describe the same module, but -F21 is sold only inside a factory-built server. The -B21 kits on this page are the ones you can buy and install yourself.
3 Match what is already installed
Adding to existing memory? Read the HPE part number on the DIMM label and buy that number. Mixing capacities works, but a bank of identical DIMMs is faster and simpler to support.

How much memory does the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen12 support?
Up to 8TB with two processors: 32 slots with 256GB DDR5-6400 RDIMMs in every one. HPE rates it at 4TB per processor, so a single processor tops out at 4TB.
What type of memory does the DL360 Gen12 use?
HPE DDR5-6400 EC8 registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 96GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. LRDIMM, UDIMM, non-ECC and DDR4 memory are not supported.
What speed will the memory run at?
6400 MT/s with one DIMM per channel (up to 8 per processor). With both slots of a channel filled, 6000 MT/s with Intel Xeon 6500P and 6700P series processors on firmware released after May 2026; 5200 MT/s before that.
Can I use DL380 Gen12 memory in a DL360 Gen12?
Yes. Both servers list the same HPE DDR5-6400 EC8 RDIMM family in their QuickSpecs. Match the HPE part number rather than buying generic DDR5.
Do the DIMMs have to be installed in matched sets?
In practice, yes. Install an even number, keep both processors populated identically, and use the same capacity and rank within a bank. The picker above only suggests configurations that follow these rules.
