The HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen10 is the single-socket 4.5U tower built on the Intel C621 chipset, taking one Intel Xeon Scalable processor across six DDR4 Registered DIMM slots, with a front end fixed by the drive cage it was built with. • Form factor: a 4.5U tower, 17.32in (H) × 7.68in (W) × 18.92in (D), 29.82 lb to 55.0 lb by configuration
• Processor: one Intel Xeon Scalable processor, first or second generation, in Bronze, Silver and Gold classes from six to sixteen cores and up to 110W; HPE does not support a field upgrade between the two generations
• Memory: six DDR4 Registered DIMM slots, one per channel, to a maximum of 192GB on six 32GB RDIMMs at 2933 MT/s; LRDIMMs are not qualified for this server
• Drive bays: eight non-hot-plug 3.5-inch SATA, four hot-plug LFF upgradable to eight, or eight hot-plug SFF upgradable to sixteen — cage types cannot be mixed
• Maximum internal storage: 160TB on eight 20TB LFF drives, 38.4TB on sixteen 2.4TB SFF SAS, and 245.76TB on sixteen 15.36TB SFF SAS SSDs
• Storage controller: embedded HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 software RAID over ten SATA ports, or a plug-in Smart Array E208 or P408 SR Gen10 card

Two things decide most ML110 Gen10 orders: the drive cage and the processor generation. Three front ends exist — non-hot-plug LFF, hot-plug LFF and hot-plug SFF — and mixing cage types is not allowed, so a second cage has to match the first. HPE also does not support a field upgrade from a first generation x1xx processor to a second generation x2xx part, and that same split decides whether the server takes DDR4-2666 or DDR4-2933 memory.

How much memory can an ML110 Gen10 take?
192GB, from six 32GB DDR4 Registered DIMMs at 2933 MT/s. The server has six DIMM slots, one on each memory channel, and LRDIMMs are not qualified for it.

How many drives fit in an ML110 Gen10?
It depends on the cage: up to eight non-hot-plug 3.5-inch SATA drives, four hot-plug LFF bays upgradable to eight, or eight hot-plug SFF bays upgradable to sixteen. Mixing cage types is not allowed.

Does the ML110 Gen10 have a RAID controller built in?
Yes, the Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 software RAID. It supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 on SATA drives on the embedded ports, runs in UEFI mode only, and is off by default.

Can an ML110 Gen10 be mounted in a rack?
Yes, using the HPE ML Gen10 Tower to Rack Conversion Kit - a sliding rail rack shelf with a cable management arm. HPE describes the rail tray as taking 1U of height in a standard rack.

Is the ML110 Gen10 a redundant server?
Only where it was built that way. One system fan and one PCIe fan ship as standard, and the 550W ATX supply is a single fixed unit. Redundancy means the enablement kit, two matching Flex Slot supplies and the redundant fan kit.
