What processors does the HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen11 support?
One or two AMD EPYC processors: 4th Generation 9004 Series models from 16 to 128 cores, or 5th Generation 9005 Series models from 8 to 160 cores. Both sockets must hold the identical processor model.

How much memory does the DL385 Gen11 support?
Up to 6TB of DDR5 - 24 x 256GB RDIMMs with two processors installed. Each processor owns 12 slots across 12 channels at one DIMM per channel, running at 4800 MT/s on 9004 CPUs or 6400 MT/s on 9005.

What drives does the DL385 Gen11 accept?
Basic Carrier U.3 SFF drives (up to 48 in the 48SFF CTO chassis), EDSFF E3.S 1T NVMe (up to 36), or LFF spindles (up to 20 with the mid tray and rear cage). NVMe requires a U.3 tri-mode backplane.

Does the DL385 Gen11 have built-in network ports?
No. The QuickSpecs list network ports as none, with a choice of OCP or stand-up card. Only the dedicated 1GbE iLO management port is fitted as standard.

What is the difference between the DL385 Gen11 and the DL380 Gen11?
Processor architecture. The DL385 Gen11 is the 2U AMD EPYC model with 24 DIMM slots at 12 channels per socket; the DL380 Gen11 is the Intel Xeon equivalent. Drives and Flex Slot power supplies overlap, but processors, memory kits, and risers do not.

Can I mix new and refurbished parts in the DL385 Gen11?
