An HPE BladeSystem c7000 or c3000. A 10U c7000 holds up to sixteen of these blades and a 6U c3000 holds up to eight, and the enclosure supplies power, cooling and the interconnect bays every network port lands in.

Does the BL465c Gen8 have its own power supplies and fans?
No. A blade draws power and cooling from the enclosure, which is why there are no power supplies, fans or rail kits for this model. HPE specifies ten fans in a c7000, or six in a c3000.

What processors does the BL465c Gen8 support?
One or two AMD Opteron 6200 or 6300 Series processors on the AMD SR5690 and SP5100 chipsets, from four to sixteen cores with 16MB of level 3 cache. All processors in one blade must be identical.

How much memory can a BL465c Gen8 take?
512GB, using sixteen 32GB quad-rank Load Reduced DIMMs at 1333MHz. Registered DIMMs reach 256GB with sixteen 16GB modules at up to 1600MHz, and the two technologies cannot be mixed.

How many drives fit in a BL465c Gen8?
Two, in hot-plug small form factor SmartDrive bays: 2.4TB on two 1.2TB SAS drives, 2.0TB on two 1TB SATA drives, or 3.2TB on two 1.6TB solid state drives.

Can I put a standard PCIe card in a BL465c Gen8?
No. The blade has no standard PCIe card slots. Expansion is through the FlexibleLOM connector and two c-Class mezzanine slots: x8 PCIe 2.0 Type A, and x16 PCIe 2.0 Type A or Type B.
