HPE ProLiant DL145 G3 Memory

How the pairs fit together
HPE: "Memory should be installed in pairs and matched for optimum performance." Each kit on this page is one pair, so an 8GB kit is two 4GB DIMMs and fills two slots. All kits run at DDR2-667; there is no speed to match.

HPE's QuickSpecs do not say how the eight slots divide between the processors. With one processor installed, check HPE's population rules before ordering more than two kits.
Three rules that avoid a return
1 Install in matched pairs
Each kit is a matched pair. HPE: memory should be installed in pairs and matched for optimum performance, so keep both DIMMs of a pair identical.
2 Match what is already installed
Adding to existing memory? Read the HP part number on the DIMM label and buy the same kit, or at least the same capacity, so the pairs stay matched.
3 Registered DDR2 only
This server takes registered ECC DDR2-667 (PC2-5300). Unbuffered desktop DDR2 and fully buffered DIMMs from other servers do not work.
