Two sockets are on the system board; the other two are not. Sockets three and four on a DL580 Gen10 are carried on the HPE DL5x0 Gen10 CPU Mezzanine Board Kit, and 24 of the 48 DIMM slots go with them. One to four Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Two sockets sit on the system board; the third and fourth are carried on the HPE DL5x0 Gen10 CPU Mezzanine Board Kit, which has to be fitted before they can be installed.

How much memory can a DL580 Gen10 hold?
6TB, using 48 128GB Load Reduced DIMMs. Registered memory reaches 1.5TB on 1st generation processors, or 3TB on 2nd generation with 64GB modules at two DIMMs per channel.

How many drives fit in a DL580 Gen10?
Eight 2.5-inch SFF drives ship in Box 1, and the chassis expands to 48 SFF bays across six boxes. Up to 20 of those bays can be NVMe, depending on processor count and riser choice.

Does the DL580 Gen10 have onboard network ports?
No. Networking always comes from a card - a FlexibleLOM adapter in the dedicated slot, or a standard PCIe adapter. The only network connector fitted by default is the dedicated iLO 5 management port.

Which RAID controller does the DL580 Gen10 use?
The embedded HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 software RAID handles SATA drives, runs in UEFI mode only and is off by default. SAS drives and cached arrays need an E208 or P408 plug-in Smart Array card.

How many PCIe slots does a DL580 Gen10 have?
Up to 16 PCIe 3.0 slots, with four processors installed and the primary, secondary and tertiary risers fitted. Slot availability follows processor count, because each riser's slots are wired to specific processors.
