DL360p Gen8 Power Supply Specifications
- AC option kits: 750W Common Slot Titanium at 96%; 460W, 750W and 1200W Common Slot Platinum Plus at 94%; 460W and 750W Gold at up to 92%
- Special input kits: a 750W Common Slot -48VDC kit at 92%, with a terminal block instead of a power cable, plus 500W and 750W 277VAC kits at 94%
- Redundancy: two hot-plug bays — Entry, Base and Energy Star models ship one supply, Performance models two
- Rated steady-state output: the technical specifications quote 460 W and 750 W alike at 100 to 120 VAC and at 200 to 240 VAC, peak power included
- Mixing rule: mixing power supplies in the same server is not supported, and Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus certified supplies may not be mixed
Every supply in the server must be the same model. HPE states mixing power supplies is not supported and that Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus supplies cannot be mixed, so match the part number already installed. This document quotes rated output only for the 460W and 750W supplies — the same at 100–120 VAC as at 200–240 VAC — and prints no table for the 1200W, Titanium or Gold kits.

Note what this document does and does not promise. For the 460W and 750W supplies it prints the same steady-state and peak output at low line as at high line, so a 120V feed costs no rated output. It prints no output table for the 1200W, Titanium or Gold kits, so size those with the HPE Power Advisor.
Choosing the Right DL360p Gen8 Power Supply
- Never mix models. Every supply inside the server must be exactly the same model, so order the exact part number already installed.
- Check the feed before the wattage. The 277VAC and -48VDC kits are not drop-in replacements for a standard AC supply, and the -48VDC kit ships without a power cable.
- Platinum Plus if you want Intelligent Power Discovery; HPE requires CS Platinum Plus supplies for it, and the 750W Titanium is the only 96% kit listed.
- Refurbished supplies are a low-risk buy — sealed, tested hot-plug modules, and the usual way to fill the second bay for 1+1 redundancy.

Can I mix power supplies in a DL360p Gen8?

Do DL360p Gen8 power supply kits include a power cord?
The AC option kits include the power supply and one PDU IEC cable. ProLiant DL servers ship with a 6-foot C-14 to C13 PDU cord, not a 110V wall cord, so a NEMA 5-15 to C13 cord is ordered separately. The -48VDC kit ships with no cable.
How much heat does a DL360p Gen8 put out?
HPE quotes a maximum BTU rating of 1773 BTU/hr at 120 VAC and 1715 BTU/hr at 240 VAC, with rated input current from 4.5 Amps at 120 VAC down to 2.2 Amps at 240 VAC. Use the HPE Power Advisor to size a configuration.
