HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen10 Rack Options
Genuine HPE rack hardware for the HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen10. This is a 4U chassis, 75.18cm (29.60in) deep and up to 51.71kg (114 lb) fully populated, and HPE specifies one rail set for it: the DL580 Gen10 4U rail kit with its cable management arm. The listing below is short, carrying that rail kit rather than a range of accessories.
DL580 Gen10 Rack Specifications
- Form factor: 4U rack chassis; pre-configured and configure-to-order servers ship with Gen10 rail kits and a cable management assembly as standard
- Rails: the HPE DL580 Gen10 4U rail kit with cable management arm, listed for every pre-configured model
- Dimensions with bezel: 17.48cm × 44.55cm × 75.18cm, or 6.88in × 17.54in × 29.60in, height by width by depth
- Weight: 51.71kg (114 lb) with all drives, supplies, DIMMs and processors installed, and 28.12kg (62 lb) at minimum
- Rack standard: HPE rail kits are designed for HPE racks compliant with EIA-310-E, with no warranty or liability assumed for third-party racks
- Power path: up to four Flexible Slot supplies, each with its own cord, so planning covers four outlets rather than two
Depth and weight decide this, not the rack unit count. The chassis is 75.18cm (29.60in) deep with the bezel, before the cable management arm behind it, and reaches 51.71kg (114 lb) fully populated against 28.12kg (62 lb) stripped. Four free U in the cabinet is necessary and nowhere near sufficient.
Will a DL580 Gen10 Fit Your Rack?
| Measure | DL580 Gen10 | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Height | 4U — 17.48cm (6.88in) | Four contiguous U, and airflow above and below |
| Width | 44.55cm (17.54in) | A standard EIA-310-E 19-inch rack |
| Depth with bezel | 75.18cm (29.60in) | Rail travel, plus room behind for the cable management arm |
| Weight, maximum | 51.71kg (114 lb) | Rail and rack load rating, and how it gets lifted in |
| Weight, minimum | 28.12kg (62 lb) | A stripped chassis, one processor and one drive |
Depth and weight catch people out here rather than height: 29.60 inches of server plus the cable management arm behind it is more than a short-frame cabinet allows, and 114 lb is above what one person should be lifting into rails. Pulling the drives and supplies first brings it close to the 62 lb figure.
Choosing the Right DL580 Gen10 Rack Hardware
- The rail kit is model-specific. These are DL580 Gen10 4U rails; rails from a 2U ProLiant do not transfer.
- The cable management arm comes with the rails. It is part of the same kit, and has to be allowed for in the depth calculation.
- Measure the cabinet, not the rack unit count. Rail travel and rear door clearance decide whether the server goes in.
- Third-party racks are at your own risk. HPE builds these rails to EIA-310-E and disclaims any warranty about fit or safety elsewhere.
- Plan four power cords, not two. With four supplies in the back, PDU outlet count matters as much as amperage.

DL580 Gen10 Rack Options FAQ
What rail kit does a DL580 Gen10 use?
The HPE DL580 Gen10 4U rail kit with cable management arm. It is the rail set listed for every pre-configured model of this server, and the cable management arm is part of the same kit.
How deep is a DL580 Gen10?
75.18cm, or 29.60 inches, measured with the bezel fitted. Allow additional clearance behind that for the cable management arm and cabling.
How much does a DL580 Gen10 weigh?
Up to 51.71kg, or 114 lb, with all drives, power supplies, DIMMs and processors installed. A minimum configuration with one processor, one drive, two power supplies and one DIMM is 28.12kg or 62 lb.
How many rack units does a DL580 Gen10 need?
Four. It is a 4U chassis, 17.48cm or 6.88 inches high, in a standard 19-inch rack 44.55cm or 17.54 inches wide.
Will HPE rails work in a third-party rack?
HPE designs its rail kits for HPE racks built to the EIA-310-E standard. It states that using them in a third-party rack is at the customer's own risk and disclaims any warranty covering the fit, safety or compatibility of such racks.
Why does this category list so few parts?
Because the rack hardware specific to this server is essentially one item - the 4U rail kit with its cable management arm. Racks, power distribution units and KVM equipment are general data centre products rather than DL580 Gen10 parts, and HPE documents them in separate QuickSpecs.
