HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Power Supplies

Genuine HPE Flex Slot power supplies for the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9, new and refurbished. The platform takes a maximum of two hot-plug Flex Slot supplies — a shared electrical and physical design, tool-less to install, so a second matching supply is what makes the server redundant.

DL360 Gen9 Power Supply Specifications

  • Family: HPE Flexible Slot (Flex Slot) hot-plug supplies, a documented maximum of two per platform
  • Wattages and efficiency grades: HPE lists 500W and 800W Platinum at up to 94%, an 800W Titanium at up to 96%, and a 1400W Platinum Plus at up to 94%
  • Rated steady-state output: the 500W and 800W are rated at both 100 VAC and 240 VAC; the 1400W is rated 1400W at 240 VAC, peak power quoted at 200 to 240 VAC
  • Input: rated line voltage 100 to 120 VAC and 200 to 240 VAC, plus an 800W -48VDC kit; HPE also documents 277VAC and 380VDC universal inputs for the Flex Slot family
  • Heat output: HPE quotes 3207 BTU/hr at 100 VAC and 3071 at 200 VAC for the 800W, and 1979 and 1911 BTU/hr for the 500W
  • Mixing rule: every supply in one server must share input voltage, output rating and efficiency rating, or HPE warns of errors and operational issues

Check your feed before you size the supply. HPE quotes the 1400W Flex Slot supply's rated steady-state output at 240 VAC and its maximum peak power at 200 to 240 VAC, while the 500W and 800W supplies are rated at 100 VAC as well. Two Flex Slot supplies is the documented maximum, and mixing supplies in one server is not supported — match the exact model already installed.

What does each DL360 Gen9 Flex Slot supply actually deliver?

The 1400W is the one to check your feed for. HPE quotes its rated steady-state output at 240 VAC and its peak power at 200 to 240 VAC only, while the 500W and 800W are quoted at 100 VAC as well. Power Discovery Services comes with the 1400W option, and HPE points at the Power Advisor for sizing.

Choosing the Right DL360 Gen9 Power Supply

  • Never mix. All supplies must match on input voltage, output rating and efficiency rating — order the part number already installed.
  • Two is the ceiling. The platform takes two Flex Slot supplies, so the second buys redundancy rather than headroom.
  • Check the circuit, then the grade. On a 100 to 120 VAC feed the 500W and 800W are the supplies HPE rates at that voltage; Titanium is rated up to 96% against Platinum's 94%.
  • Refurbished supplies are a low-risk buy — sealed, tested hot-plug modules, and the usual way to fill the second bay.

DL360 Gen9 Power Supplies FAQ

What power supplies does the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 use?
HPE Flexible Slot (Flex Slot) hot-plug supplies. The QuickSpecs list a 500W Platinum and an 800W Platinum at up to 94% efficiency, an 800W Titanium at up to 96%, a 1400W Platinum Plus at up to 94%, and an 800W -48VDC variant.

How many power supplies does a DL360 Gen9 hold?
Two. HPE states a maximum of two Flex Slot power supplies per platform, in hot-plug bays at the rear. Entry and Base pre-configured models ship with a single 500W Flex Slot Platinum supply, so the second bay is where redundancy comes from.

Does the 1400W DL360 Gen9 supply deliver 1400W on a 120V circuit?
No. HPE quotes the 1400W supply's rated steady-state output at 240 VAC and its maximum peak power at 200 to 240 VAC. The 500W and 800W supplies, by contrast, are rated at 100 VAC as well as 240 VAC.

Can I mix power supplies in a DL360 Gen9?
No. HPE states that mixing power supplies in the same server is not supported and that all supplies must be of the same input voltage, output rating and efficiency rating. Non-matching supplies may produce an error message and operational issues.

What is the difference between Platinum and Titanium Flex Slot supplies?
Efficiency grade. HPE rates the Flex Slot Platinum supplies at up to 94% and the Flex Slot Titanium at up to 96%. Since supplies in one server must share an efficiency rating, a Titanium upgrade means replacing both, not just one.

Do DL360 Gen9 power supply kits include a power cord?
The standard AC option kits include a 6-foot IEC C-13/C-14 jumper cord (A0K02A), the same cord shipped with pre-configured servers. A different cord, such as a wall-outlet cord, is ordered separately from the HPE power cables listing.
