Choosing the Right DL320e Gen8 Power Supply
- Never mix. Order the same output and efficiency rating already installed; HPE states non-matched supplies produce errors and operation will fail.
- Check whether the server can take a second supply — Common Slot redundancy depends on factory RPS enablement hardware, not a field kit.
- Platinum Plus is the one that carries Intelligent Power Discovery. HPE requires CS Platinum Plus supplies to enable IPD; the CS Gold kit is the 92% alternative.
- Plan the cord separately. The kit includes one PDU IEC cable; a NEMA 5-15 to C13 cord for a 110V receptacle is ordered on its own.
