HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen11 Memory

Maximize the performance of your HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen11 with genuine DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM) memory. Built for this single-socket 1U server, these DL320 Gen11 memory modules deliver the speed, capacity, and reliability your edge and virtualization workloads depend on — with guaranteed compatibility.

DL320 Gen11 Memory Specifications

  • Memory type: DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM). The DL320 Gen11 does not support LRDIMM, UDIMM, or non-ECC memory.
  • Speeds: Up to 4800 MT/s with 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® and up to 5600 MT/s with 5th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (speed is processor- and configuration-dependent).
  • Capacities: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB modules — 128GB is the largest qualified DIMM.
  • Maximum memory: Up to 2TB across 16 DIMM slots on a single processor (8 channels, 2 DIMMs per channel).

Before you order, match your memory to your CPU. The DL320 Gen11 runs either 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® (DDR5-4800) or 5th Gen Intel® Xeon® (DDR5-5600) processors, and HPE requires the memory speed grade to match: use DDR5-4800 modules with a 4th Gen CPU and DDR5-5600 modules with a 5th Gen CPU. Mixing 4800 and 5600 memory is not supported. Confirm your processor generation before ordering — and if you're not sure which you have, contact our team.

Memory Population Rules

For best performance, install matched DDR5 RDIMM kits, populate the white (A1) slots first, and add DIMMs in supported quantities (1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, or 16). See the full slot-by-slot layout here:

DL320 Gen11 Memory FAQ

What type of memory does the HPE DL320 Gen11 use?
DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM) memory only — LRDIMM and unbuffered (UDIMM) modules are not supported. The same RDIMM type is used with both 4th and 5th Gen Intel Xeon CPUs.

How much RAM can the DL320 Gen11 hold?
Up to 2TB, using 16 x 128GB DDR5 RDIMMs. As a single-socket server it has 16 DIMM slots, and 128GB is the largest qualified module — 256GB DIMMs are not supported on this platform.

What is the maximum memory speed?
It depends on your processor: 4th Gen Intel Xeon CPUs run DDR5-4800 and 5th Gen Intel Xeon CPUs run DDR5-5600. Filling both slots in a channel (2 DIMMs per channel, required to reach 2TB) steps the speed down to 4400 MT/s.

Should I buy DDR5-4800 or DDR5-5600 memory?
Match the speed grade to your CPU generation — DDR5-4800 for a 4th Gen Intel Xeon server, or DDR5-5600 for a 5th Gen server. HPE does not allow mixing 4800 and 5600 memory in the same system, so a mismatched module won't give you a supported configuration. Both are the same DDR5 ECC Registered (RDIMM) type.
