• Processors: one or two, and every processor in the blade must be identical; the documented Intel Xeon E7-2800 family reaches ten cores and 30MB of level 3 cache, while blades built on Xeon 6500 and 7500 series parts are a separate upgrade path
• Memory: 32 registered DIMM slots — sixteen per installed processor, reached through four Intel 7510 Scalable Memory Buffers per socket — taking DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1066 RDIMMs that operate at up to 1066MHz, 32GB as standard and 1.0TB at maximum
• Drive bays: two hot-plug SFF SAS, SATA or SSD bays in positions 1 and 2, with SAS, SATA and SSD drives unable to be mixed inside one blade
• Maximum internal storage: 2.4TB on two 1.2TB SAS drives, 2.0TB on two 1.0TB SATA drives, or 1.6TB on two 800GB solid state drives
• Storage controller: integrated SAS 2.0 (6Gb) HPE Smart Array P410i, shipped with no cache and supporting RAID 0 and 1 without one
• Networking: four integrated NC553i 10Gb FlexFabric ports with 10Gb and 1Gb autosensing, FCoE, Flex-10, TCP/IP Offload Engine, accelerated iSCSI and iSCSI boot, plus a 10/100 port dedicated to iLO 3
• Mezzanine slots: three — two Type II x8 PCIe Gen2 slots and one Type I x4 slot — whose ports route to the enclosure interconnect bays rather than to the back of the blade
• Enclosure: up to eight blades in a BladeSystem c7000 or four in a c3000, which supply power (up to six hot-plug supplies), cooling (up to ten Active Cool fans) and up to eight interconnect modules; HPE specifies ten c7000 fans or six c3000 fans for this blade
• Management: embedded iLO 3 with its own network port, plus USB 2.0, MicroSDHC and TPM 1.2 connectors on the blade

This blade brings nothing of its own to the rack — the enclosure does. Power supplies, Active Cool fans and interconnect modules belong to the BladeSystem c7000 or c3000, and the mezzanine cards route their ports to the enclosure's interconnect bays. Being full height, a BL620c G7 fills a full bay: up to eight in a c7000, up to four in a c3000.
