Both. The DL580 Gen12 runs with two or four Intel Xeon 6 processors. Memory slots and PCIe connectivity scale with the installed CPUs, and power supply rules differ: 2-processor systems use one or two PSUs, while 4-processor systems require two or four.

How much memory does the DL580 Gen12 support?
Up to 16TB of DDR5, using 256GB 3DS RDIMMs in all 64 slots with four processors installed. Modules run at up to 6400 MT/s, and supported capacities are 64GB, 96GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

What drives does the DL580 Gen12 accept?
Hot-plug 2.5-inch SFF drives on U.3 Basic Carriers and EDSFF E3.S NVMe drives, in configurations up to 32 bays (including mixed 16 SFF + 16 EDSFF). NVMe, SAS, and SATA interfaces are all supported; there are no 3.5-inch LFF bays on this model.
