This is a single-socket AMD server, and the one processor decides the rest of the build. The DL525 Gen13 takes one 6th Gen AMD EPYC 9006 SP7 processor, and that processor serves all 16 DDR5 DIMM slots and all 96 PCIe 6.0 lanes, and through its wattage sets the heat sink the chassis must carry. HPE quotes every memory and PCIe figure per processor because there is only one. Choose the processor page first; memory, cooling and power follow from it.

DL525 Gen13 Parts FAQ
What processors does the HPE ProLiant DL525 Gen13 use?
One 6th Gen AMD EPYC 9006 SP7 series processor. HPE lists seven processor kits for it, from the 64-core EPYC 9586F at 500W to the 256-core EPYC 9996 at 600W, and every one supports up to 4 TB of memory, 16 memory channels and 96 PCIe 6.0 lanes.
How much memory does the DL525 Gen13 support?
HPE states 4.0 TB as 16 x 256 GB RDIMM at 8000 MT/s, and 2.0 TB as 16 x 128 GB MRDIMM at 12800 MT/s. The server has 16 DIMM slots on 16 channels, one DIMM per channel, and the supported populations are 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 and 16 DIMMs.
How many drives does a DL525 Gen13 hold?
It depends on the chassis. The EDSFF CTO server has 20 EDSFF E3.S 1T NVMe bays; the Front FHFL PCIe CTO server has 8 E3.S 1T bays alongside its front GPU slots. HPE quotes the maximum internal storage as 614.4 TB, as 20 x 30.72 TB E3.S SSDs, plus 960 GB of hot-plug boot storage as 2 x 960 GB.
Does the DL525 Gen13 have built-in network ports?
No. HPE lists the network ports as none, with a choice of OCP 3.0 or stand-up PCIe adapters instead. One rear OCP 3.0 slot is standard, and a front OCP 3.0 slot is optional.
Is the DL525 Gen13 a two-processor server?
No. It is a single-socket platform - one 6th Gen AMD EPYC 9006 SP7 processor, one heat sink, and 16 DIMM slots all served by that processor. HPE quotes every memory and PCIe figure for this server per processor because there is only one.
Which DL525 Gen13 parts need the Front FHFL PCIe chassis?
The front GPU accelerators and their riser. HPE places the RTX PRO 6000 (two, double width) and RTX PRO 4500 (four, single width) at the front, where the x2 PCIe 16-slot front riser kit lives; the NVIDIA L4 fits the rear slots of either chassis, up to three. The two chassis also take different rail kits and cable management arms.
