There is no 2-DIMM-per-channel step-down to plan around — this platform has one slot per channel, so the only speed variable is your processor generation. The server clocks all memory to the slowest module installed, and a partial population gives up channels, not just capacity.

- Match the speed grade to your EPYC generation: DDR5-4800 kits for 4th Gen, DDR5-6400 for 5th Gen — both fit, but the wrong grade caps the server at 4800 MT/s or wastes money.

- Never mix x4 with x8 modules, or 3DS with non-3DS — HPE does not support either combination.

Generally yes - both platforms use the same HPE DDR5 EC8 RDIMM part numbers. The difference is slot count: the two-socket DL385 Gen11 has more slots, while the DL325 Gen11 tops out at 12 DIMMs and 3TB.
